Job Description

Job Title:
Maintenance Technician - Manufacturing Equipment Job Description This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and improving large manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. You will work with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, perform preventive maintenance on production machinery and company vehicles, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a busy fabrication environment. Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment. Identify and implement improvements to increase uptime and maintenance efficiency. Support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production systems, including motors, drives, and PLCs. Disassemble, repair, and rebuild machinery to restore proper operation. Replace worn or damaged parts across equipment and vehicles. Adjust and fine-tune equipment to ensure reliable performance. Complete equipment upgrades or modifications to enhance safety and efficiency. Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and other equipment. Maintain company vehicles with routine service and minor repairs. Coordinate outside vendors for repairs beyond internal capabilities. Essential Skills Minimum of four years of maintenance experience diagnosing and repairing large manufacturing equipment, preferably in welding and heavy fabrication environments. Experience with mechanical systems including power transmissions, chain and belt drives, cams, and bearings. Experience with electrical troubleshooting and repair, including motor control circuits and drives. Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, brake replacement, and minor repairs. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing shop environment. Work Environment The role is based in a large equipment manufacturing shop focused on welding and heavy fabrication, with standard hours typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Due to high demand, most shop employees currently work approximately 50 hours a week during peak production times. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Crystal Lake, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $64480.00/yr.
