Position Summary MDI is looking for an adaptable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to be a patient, conscientious and cooperative member of our industrial maintenance and production team to set-up, troubleshoot , maintain, and repair production machines and facility equipment. Requires the ability to be analytical and produce highly precise and accurate work. Job Responsiblities The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe execution of the following functions in accordance with MDI's safety policies and SOP's to ensure all lines are properly maintained, set-up, and running according to the production schedule: Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, rebuild, and replace electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on all plant manufacturing machines. Support equipment and facility systems, including compressors and HVAC systems. Perform and document preventative maintenance activities and repairs of production equipment Follow electrical and mechanical schematics, drawings, equipment manuals and safety procedures Manage multiple projects concurrently and independently, including timely communication and documentation of status updates, repair/installation issues and estimated completion time Participate as a member of a collaborative maintenance and production team to maximize equipment's productivity and efficiency and reduce downtime and waste Maintain and service all production machinery, using a multi-skilled approach, in accordance with equipment manufacturer's specifications Provide frontline engineering support Assist the Engineering Supervisor in minimizing machine down time by proposing and introducing improved maintenance programs and continuous improvement ideas Carry out property/facility maintenance duties as required. With contracted service providers when on site, sign on/off in line with the companies site visitor/'permit to work' procedures Participant in continuos improvement programs Complete additional skills training as required by the company Carry out such other duties as the management team may reasonably require Adhere to all Health, Safety and Environment procedures Report any unsafe acts of Health, Safety and Environmental incidents Provide daily production support, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and completing necessary repairs both mechanical and electrical Additional duties as assigned by management Required Education, Knowledge & Skills Strong maintenance background with proven knowledge/experience of successful troubleshooting, repair, replacement and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and components such as pneumatic cylinders, hydraulics, solenoids, motors, roller chain, clutches and converyors Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring electrical schematics Mechanic skills including use of basic hand tools, power tools, multimeters and fabrication equipment. High school diploma/GED/Trade School 4+ yrs experience in a manufacturing environment Self-Starter with ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Highly dependable with reliable transportation to work all scheduled hours and overtime required for production and facility needs Ability to understand, communicate and apply verbal instructions, written work, and adhere to safety-related procedures including Arc Flash Safety Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree in Manufacturing /Mechanical/Electrical Experience with HMI/PLC diagnostics and troubleshooting Ability to perform basic fabrication using lathe and milling machines, band saw, and welding equipment Ability to use rigging equipment such as chain falls, come alongs and crancs Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds Requires intermittent walking and standing for an 8+ hour shift Setting up machines to include; bending, reaching, kneeling, maneuvering into and under small spaces, climbing ladder and steps Benefits Paid medical coverage for the employee Life insurance Voluntary vision coverage Paid vacation and holiday time Profit sharing plan On-site fitness facility free to employees
