Job Description

DC Management, a high-performing property management company is seeking a professional and experienced individual to join our growing property management team as a Maintenance Technician. This full-time position will primarily be working within the Brunswick, Gardiner, and Wiscasset areas and will be responsible for performing routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance. The company also has similar opportunities in the Greater Portland area. The company manages a diverse portfolio of properties that includes commercial, residential, emergency shelter and affordable housing and the selected candidate will be respectful and courteous, providing professional service and communication. This position may occasionally require travel to other areas to support the team and properties. Participation in on-call rotation is required. Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Perform routine, emergency and preventative building repair and maintenance including painting, routine electrical and plumbing work not requiring a license, and general repairs of walls, ceilings, fixtures, appliances, doors, windows, locks, equipment and exterior surfaces.
  • Perform clean out and turnover of vacant units in a timely manner for new move-ins.
  • Assist in special projects as needed including renovations and buildouts of commercial spaces.
  • Communicate and coordinate work with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Coordinate and participate in unit, property and equipment inspections.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and order supplies as needed.
  • Assist in the removal and installation of appliances.
  • Provide accurate record-keeping of work completed and future repairs using all required computer and mobile reporting systems.
  • Maintain good working relationships with residents, commercial tenants and staff and attend meetings regularly.
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality.
  • Complete all work in a professional and timely manner.
  • Complete training programs as required by company, federal and state guidelines.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Minimum qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable Transportation, Clean Driving Record and Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to reliably work an 8-hour shift; Monday-Friday with rotating on-call schedule.
  • Ability to remain self-motivated, honest, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to make decisions and use sound judgement.
  • Ability to work well with others including diverse and high-needs populations.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when faced with difficult situations.
  • Ability to read, understand and complete work in a manner consistent with blueprints, manuals and building codes.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the use of hand tools, carpenter's tools, and specialized tools such as those used for electrical and plumbing work. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, climb stairs/ladders and walk property on an as needed basis, use hands to handle tools.
The ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to complete daily tasks. The ability to regularly lift and/or move 25Lbs., frequently, lift and/or move 50Lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move 100+Lbs.
