Position Summary Chestnut Market is seeking a skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Maintenance Tech that specializes in Facilities Painting to support the appearance, maintenance, and brand standards of retail convenience store locations and company facilities. This role is responsible for performing interior and exterior commercial painting, surface preparation, drywall repair, touch-ups, and minor facility maintenance across multiple locations. The ideal candidate has experience in commercial or retail painting, understands safety and maintenance procedures, and can work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced retail environment. This position requires regular travel between store locations and flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or overnight shifts when needed to minimize disruption to store operations. Key Responsibilities Painting & Surface Preparation Perform interior and exterior commercial painting for convenience store and fuel station locations Prepare surfaces through sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, priming, pressure washing, and drywall repair Apply paints, coatings, stains, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment Complete touch-ups and repainting projects to maintain company brand standards and professional appearance Ensure proper paint matching, finish consistency, and quality workmanship across all locations Facilities Maintenance Support Perform minor carpentry, drywall, and general maintenance repairs as needed Assist with preventative maintenance and facility improvement projects Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments during and after projects Identify maintenance concerns and report facility issues to management promptly Safety & Compliance Follow OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and PPE requirements at all times Safely operate ladders, scaffolding, lifts, pressure washers, and painting equipment Properly handle, store, and dispose of paints, chemicals, and maintenance materials Maintain compliance with workplace safety procedures and accident prevention practices Operational Support Coordinate work schedules with store management to minimize operational disruptions Maintain painting supplies, inventory, tools, and equipment Travel regularly between company locations to complete assigned projects Support additional maintenance or facilities-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications 2+ years of commercial, industrial, or retail painting experience preferred Experience in convenience store, retail, restaurant, or multi-site environments strongly preferred Knowledge of painting techniques, coatings, drywall repair, and surface preparation methods Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills Valid driver's license with reliable transportation required Ability to travel regularly between store locations Basic knowledge of maintenance repair and handyman tasks preferred Ability to read and follow safety procedures, work orders, and maintenance instructions Preferred Skills Commercial painting and finishing experience Drywall patching and repair skills Basic carpentry and facilities maintenance knowledge Experience operating paint sprayers, pressure washers, ladders, and lifts Familiarity with OSHA standards and workplace safety procedures Ability to work flexible schedules, including overnight or early morning shifts when needed Strong communication and problem-solving skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and lift throughout the workday Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and lifts Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to work safely around active retail and fuel operations Compensation & Benefits Company vehicle and gas card Comprehensive health coverage 401(k) with company match Generous paid time off (PTO) Professional development and growth opportunities
