Job Title:
Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production machinery and equipment that include mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, and control components. The Industrial Maintenance Technician works to minimize production downtime through effective preventative maintenance, timely repairs, and close collaboration with production and engineering teams in a well-equipped, climate-controlled shop. Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repair work on production machinery and equipment that include mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, and control components. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize production downtime and ensure reliable operation. Carry out preventative maintenance, system checks, and equipment inspections according to established schedules. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of parts and supplies to reduce equipment downtime and support continuous operations. Assist with moving, installing, and setting up equipment, including disconnecting and reconnecting services to machines. Manufacture or procure repaired or replacement equipment and parts as needed to support maintenance activities. Operate manual machine shop equipment, tools, and welding equipment to perform maintenance and repair tasks. Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications, and manuals to support accurate repairs and installations. Use hand tools, power tools, gauges, meters, and other diagnostic equipment safely and effectively. Support troubleshooting of controllers and PLCs to identify and resolve control-related issues. Follow all applicable safety programs, procedures, and guidelines and actively contribute to a safe work environment. Collaborate with production and other technical staff, demonstrating strong service orientation and teamwork. Essential Skills At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience. Strong mechanical ability with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance. Familiarity with electrical maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications used in equipment repairs. Experience working with mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems. Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, gauges, meters, and related diagnostic equipment. Troubleshooting skills for industrial machinery and equipment to minimize downtime. Basic troubleshooting skills for controllers and PLCs. High school diploma or GED. Good interpersonal skills with a strong service and team orientation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Some formal education and/or certificates in the skilled trades are preferred. Experience with PLC troubleshooting is preferred. Experience operating manual machine shop equipment and welding equipment for maintenance repairs. Ability to manage parts inventories and coordinate procurement of replacement parts and equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety procedures and programs. Why Work Here?
