Job Title:
Mechanical and Robotics Maintenance Technician Job Description The Mechanical and Robotics Maintenance Technician leads a team of service technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. This role supports the operations maintenance function by troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, designing practical solutions for difficult problems, and managing maintenance-related projects in a fast-paced industrial environment. Responsibilities Lead and mentor service technicians in daily maintenance activities, providing technical guidance and support. Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues. Perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment, including conveyors, motors, and automation components, to minimize downtime. Diagnose and repair issues in three-phase electrical systems and perform electrical maintenance safely and accurately. Use PLC troubleshooting techniques to identify control system faults and support the repair of automated systems. Conduct mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on motors, mechanical drives, and related components. Perform welding and basic fabrication tasks as needed to support equipment repair and modification. Design and implement solutions for difficult maintenance and reliability problems, working collaboratively with the operations team. Manage and support maintenance projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality and adherence to safety standards. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications clearly and accurately for future reference and compliance. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment performance and reliability. Essential Skills Proven experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or automated environment. Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Hands-on experience with industrial maintenance and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including three-phase power systems and electrical maintenance. Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance on motors, conveyors, and related equipment. Experience with PLC troubleshooting to identify and resolve control system issues. Capability to perform welding and basic fabrication to support equipment repair. Experience leading or guiding other technicians in maintenance activities. Electrical maintenance experience in an industrial setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in automation systems and industrial controls. Experience working with conveyor systems and automated material handling equipment. Ability to design and implement practical solutions for complex maintenance problems. Experience managing or coordinating maintenance projects. Strong documentation skills for recording maintenance activities and repairs. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in an industrial facility with automated packaging and distribution equipment, including conveyors, motors, and robotics. You will work hands-on with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems, including PLC-controlled equipment and three-phase electrical systems. The environment is fast-paced and operations-focused, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and preventive maintenance. Work may involve standing for extended periods, working around moving machinery, and using tools and equipment such as welding gear and diagnostic instruments. Appropriate industrial workwear and personal protective equipment are required in operational areas. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Liberty Center, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.65 - $42.65/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
