    Maintenance Technician
  • Job Description
  • The Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical, electronic, and industrial control systems in a modern manufacturing facility. This role works with advanced PLCs, drives, and communication networks to ensure reliable, efficient production of high-quality products while upholding strict safety and environmental standards.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Maintain and repair all electrical and electronic devices associated with production equipment, machinery, and facility structures.
+ Program, troubleshoot, and repair electronic controls and industrial control systems on production equipment and facilities. + Configure, program, and support Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and other PLC systems to optimize machine performance. + Support and maintain Profibus, ControlNet, and Ethernet data communication systems used in plant operations. + Troubleshoot variable frequency drives and DC motor drive systems to resolve performance and reliability issues. + Work from various vendor-provided electrical and electronic schematics to diagnose and correct equipment problems. + Use common electronic diagnostic equipment to identify faults and verify proper system operation. + Troubleshoot equipment to determine the root cause of failures and perform corrective maintenance to prevent recurrence. + Effectively communicate with peers and leadership to provide clear updates, recommendations, and technical guidance. + Perform quality instrumentation calibration checks to ensure accurate measurements and control. + Conduct monthly electrical cabinet inspections and cleaning to maintain safe and reliable operation. + Perform shiftly and daily machine cleaning, inspection, and lubrication (CILs) to confirm machine settings and functionality and to support product quality. + Execute machine brand changes and equipment adjustments to support production requirements. + Shadow cell technicians to learn machine operation and function in order to improve troubleshooting and repair effectiveness. + Design and assemble electrical control cabinets to support production and facility projects. + Interact with and provide guidance to leadership in determining the best engineered solutions for efficient production of high-quality products. + Be aware of and follow environmental, health, and safety policies, and comply with related objectives for the role. + Understand potential health and safety risks and environmental impacts of work activities and take appropriate actions to mitigate these impacts. + Understand responsibilities for compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards and follow all related procedures. + Complete required EHS training and follow established operational procedures. + Work any assigned shift as needed to support continuous operations.
  • Essential Skills
  • + Extensive knowledge of PLC systems, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
+ Strong troubleshooting abilities for electrical, electronic, and control systems. + Hands-on experience with variable frequency drives and DC motor drive systems. + Experience with industrial communication systems such as Profibus, ControlNet, and Ethernet. + Ability to read and interpret vendor-provided electrical and electronic schematics. + Proficiency with common electronic diagnostic equipment. + Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude to support complex equipment troubleshooting. + Excellent computer skills for working with control software, documentation, and reporting. + Effective oral and written communication skills for interacting with peers and leadership. + Ability to work any shift as required by production and maintenance needs. + Capability to pass lift truck and scissor lift certification requirements. + High School Diploma and a minimum of 5 years of industrial electronic experience; or an Associate Degree in Electronics; or completion of two years toward an engineering degree at an accredited university.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
+ Background working with hydraulics and pneumatics in automated equipment. + Familiarity with AC and DC motor systems and their associated controls. + Experience designing and assembling electrical control cabinets. + Comfort working closely with production and cell technicians to understand machine operation. + Demonstrated commitment to environmental, health, and safety practices. + Willingness to complete additional certifications, including lift truck and scissor lift, as required.

  • The role is based in a very clean, modern manufacturing facility with complete climate control, providing a comfortable and consistent working environment throughout the year.
The plant uses advanced PLC-based control systems, industrial communication networks, and electronic diagnostic equipment, offering exposure to contemporary automation technologies.   • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winston Salem, NC.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $31.67 - $32.67/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
