Carencro, LA Job Details Part-time $17 - $23 an hour 3 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Carpentry Equipment repair Customer service High school diploma or GED Driver's License Task prioritization HVAC Certification Facilities maintenance Full Job Description Job Overview Maintenance Technician will be responsible, under the direction of the Property Manager, Housing Director and/or Executive Director, for the overall facility maintenance of the apartment complex/housing development and all areas related to the day-to-day maintenance operations of the community (i.e., repairs on equipment, inspecting buildings to confirm safety standards). Responsibilities Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and painting. Repairing and treating structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, door/cabinets, walls, building exteriors, etc. Make ready units for new move-ins in a timely manner. Have a working knowledge of HVAC systems and be able to maintain and repair. Have a working knowledge of hot water tanks and be able to maintain, repair and replace the hot water tank. Schedule and complete preventative maintenance program.
Complete grounds work such as:
grounds pick up, sweeping, and light landscaping. Coordinate special projects as directed by the Property Manager, Housing Director and/or Executive Director. Maintains good working relationships and public relations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Maintains strict confidentiality. Keeps a schedule of routine repairs, inspection logs, and supply needs. All maintenance technicians must be willing to switch locations as the need arises within the Lafayette Council on Aging. Employees are not guaranteed a specific property or location. Performs other duties as assigned by the Property Manager, Housing Director and/or Executive Director. Qualifications HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Certification. High school diploma or GED. Three years of maintenance work experience. Current driver's license, and valid auto insurance (minimum limits as required by law). Detail-oriented and able to prioritize. Knowledge of residential painting techniques is a plus for facility upkeep tasks. Strong customer service mindset to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors when necessary.
Pay:
$17.00 - $23.00 per hour
