Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation in a manufacturing environment. This role performs preventive maintenance, basic diagnostics, and repairs on hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, while using a computer to update work orders and follow a preventive maintenance schedule. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and calibration on a wide range of industrial equipment according to established schedules. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic machinery and systems. Perform basic maintenance and repairs on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts. Check the performance of machinery and conduct basic diagnostics to identify potential issues before they lead to downtime. Test damaged machine parts and components to determine whether major repairs or replacements are necessary. Use a computer system to update, track, and close work orders accurately and in a timely manner. Work from wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions. Support installation, repair, and maintenance of small and large workshop equipment, tools, and fixtures. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and determine appropriate corrective actions. Assist with CNC and PLC troubleshooting and maintenance as needed. Follow preventive maintenance schedules to minimize unplanned downtime and maintain production efficiency. Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and production staff to support smooth manufacturing operations. Perform basic plumbing tasks as needed, including sweating pipes when required. Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working on equipment and within the production area. Complete documentation and maintenance records clearly and accurately. Essential Skills Industrial maintenance experience. Experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of small and large workshop equipment, tools, and fixtures. Experience in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions. Hands-on troubleshooting experience with industrial machinery. Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills. Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics. Proficiency in preventive maintenance practices for industrial equipment. Ability to read and work from wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics. Experience with electrical troubleshooting and maintenance repair. Ability to perform basic diagnostics and testing on machine parts to determine repair needs. Basic computer skills to update and manage work orders. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with CNC maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus. Experience with PLC troubleshooting and PLC maintenance is a plus. Ability to interpret wiring schematics for complex equipment. Previous experience with plumbing, including the ability to sweat pipes, is helpful. Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing environment with a production area that is air conditioned. The role operates on a first shift schedule, typically Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with some required overtime, averaging approximately 50-55 hours per week. Occasional weekend work may be needed to perform preventive maintenance that does not impact production. The environment involves working around industrial machinery and equipment, requiring adherence to safety procedures at all times. The position is physically active and may involve stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, and reaching in various directions to access equipment and components. A clothing allowance is provided for appropriate work attire, including pants, steel-toed boots, and shirts, and the facility supplies the necessary tools for maintenance work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wellington, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
