Job Description
Overview:
As a Maintenance Technician working for Hepburn and Sons LLC, you will be assigned to be part of our experienced technical team at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops, Island, VA. The SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is a tenant of the NASA's Wallops Flight Facility. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of every ship in the AEGIS, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on test systems and equipment. Troubleshoot combat systems using various equipment. Perform corrective and preventive maintenance and micro-miniature (2M) repair to maintain combat system readiness. Complete maintenance tasks that include cable fabrication, repair and installation, cable removal, equipment overhaul and refurbishment, tactical electrical power connection and repair, and cooling plumbing connection and repair, equipment foundation fabrication, and heavy weather preparation and recovery.Qualifications:
High School/GED Six (6) years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment. DoD clearance Navy experience preferred PQS 301 qualification is required. If selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified on or before hire date, he/she must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within 3 months of employment.In demand skill sets:
