For more details, please visit : www.piramalpharmasolutions.com Job Title Maintenance Technician II Job Description 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician Maintenance Technician II Under minimal supervision perform a wide variety of duties to set up, operate, maintain, and repair facility machinery and related equipment. This is a safety sensitive position. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machine systems within training and tool restraints, oversee repairs by outside service technicians, and evaluate equipment modifications when necessary. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance procedures to maintain equipment, facility, heating/cooling systems, pumps compressors, etc. Install, modify, service, and dismantle mechanical equipment with assistance from a more senior technician Dismantle and fully service various types of pumps Perform Calibration on system instrumentation with assistance Identify, resolve, and communicate system/equipment breakdowns with assistance from a more senior technician Operate shop hand tools as necessary Perform general maintenance including 6S, cleaning, painting, lighting, and housekeeping Basic working knowledge of HVAC systems, chillers, pumps, and steam systems Complete documentation such as maintenance logs, manuals, and inventory control records as per cGMP guidelines Assist in evaluating new equipment needs and performance, train personnel for all department levels and oversee training of new technicians. Evaluate the performance of OEM replacement parts to reduce parts cost and assist coach with parts inventory management. Review equipment modifications with coach and product development groups (R&D/PE) to address new product machine issues. Assist other departments with mechanical repairs when necessary and perform other assignments as requested or as business needs require. Follows Piramal's Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned or required by business needs
Experience Required:
High school diploma or GED required. 3-5 years of previous mechanical experience in a related field. Technical Trade School (mechanical certification)
Preferred:
Evidence of working towards a qualified certificate or trade license would be an asset Experience in a maintenance role, preferably within pharmaceutical or food manufacturing and/or research facility operating under high quality and safety standards preferred Ability to work on a 7/24 schedule under diverse working conditions Strong mechanical skills and aptitude Ability to understand blueprints Working knowledge of condensers, pumps, refrigeration, and compressor systems HVAC maintenance knowledge and chiller knowledge would be acceptable. Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance and Calibration concepts on a computer-based system would be an asset. Competencies Must consistently act as a team player; be self-directed, self-reliable, highly flexible, and highly motivated. Physical Requirements Lift/move up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 300 lbs. Regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, feel objects, tools, controls, reach with hand and arms, talk, hear and good vision. Not allergic to chemicals found in the facility.
