Maintenance Technician Level 2

POSITION SUMMARY

Timberland Forest Products is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our plant maintenance team in West Plains, MO. In this role, you will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of production and mechanical equipment across our industrial manufacturing operation. We are looking for a hands-on technician with a solid mechanical foundation, a proactive approach to equipment reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinery to ensure continuous and reliable operation. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using diagrams, schematics, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Identify sources of mechanical problems by observing equipment in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments. Remove and replace defective components; inspect worn parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices. Adjust functional parts and control instruments using hand tools and related equipment. Fabricate repair parts and control instruments using hand tools and related equipment. Rebuild motors, gearboxes, and process machinery systems and components. Monitor and maintain parts and supplies inventory, including anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying receipt of materials. Maintain a safe and organized work environment in full compliance with all applicable procedures. Operate forklifts and other lifting devices as required (current certification required). Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED required

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

2-3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment required. Solid mechanical skills with working knowledge of welding, fabrication, and machining. Familiarity with industrial electrical systems, electrical controls, PLC systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics is a plus. Current forklift and lifting device operator certification required. Basic computer proficiency required. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.; ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; strong English communication skills.
