Maintenance Technician (Live Onsite )

Kindness Ranch is breaking records in animal rescue, and we need dedicated people to keep it all running smoothly. We're hiring a hands-on Maintenance Technician to live and work onsite at our remote sanctuary in Wyoming. If you're skilled in fencing, irrigation, carpentry, and solving problems on the fly — and you're ready for a meaningful, demanding role — we want to hear from you. About the Role This isn't a job for someone just looking to clock in and out. It's a position with real impact — one where your work directly supports the wellbeing of former research animals who now call this sanctuary home. You'll be the go-to person for keeping our facilities, fencing, irrigation, and equipment safe and functional in all seasons. From plowing snow to repairing animal enclosures to figuring out why the pump stopped working — you'll be the one making sure the sanctuary can function without a hitch.

Core Responsibilities:

Perform routine and emergency repairs (fencing, plumbing, irrigation, carpentry, etc.) Operate and maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, tractors, and heavy machinery Troubleshoot facility and utility issues proactively Perform seasonal grounds work (mowing, plowing, etc.) Conduct regular maintenance checks on buildings, enclosures, and equipment Assist with new building and repair projects as needed Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe What We're Looking For Education, Experience and Other Requirements High school graduate or GED Must be age 18 or older Must possess valid driver's license. 1-year experience in general maintenance (fencing, irrigation, carpentry, basic electrical/plumbing) Ability to think critically and solve problems independently Physically able to perform manual labor in all weather conditions Able to lift 50+ lbs and operate sanctuary vehicles/machinery Organized, dependable, and comfortable working in remote environments Strong communication skills and team mindset Comfortable with a coed shared housing situation Must be willing to undergo background and rental history checks

Preferred Experience:

Experience on a farm, sanctuary, or other animal-focused setting Tractor/backhoe operation experience Vehicle and small engine repair knowledge Compassionate lifestyle or understanding of animal welfare values What You Should Know Kindness Ranch is unlike anywhere else.
