Federal Building Services - 3.0 Glendale, WI Job Details Full-time $25 - $26 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off On-the-job training Vision insurance Qualifications Carpentry Equipment repair Writing skills Maintenance High school diploma or GED Driver's License Facilities maintenance Full Job Description The Maintenance Technician II performs a variety of maintenance & property operational duties for the Facilities Department and is assigned to work for either the Maintenance Supervisor, Project Manager, or Regional Manager. The Maintenance Technician II is guided by a general knowledge of building trades, carpentry, painting, minor electrical, plumbing, mechanical system repairs, plant maintenance, and the use of tools and basic maintenance supplies.
WORK PERFORMED
Ø Performs a variety of duties in maintaining, repairing, operating and renovating properties and facilities. Ø Assists in making decisions on all normal & minor repairs and reports major problems to Supervisor or Director of Facilities. Ø Installs, maintains & repairs equipment, systems & facilities related to any craft or combination of same, using power & hand tools and other necessary equipment. Ø Performs a variety of other semi-skilled and skilled work in various crafts such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall repairs, minor electrical work, floor tile work, masonry, and maintaining simple temperature controls. Ø Cleans, lubricates, performs simple repairs of HVAC equipment, sprinkler & standpipe systems, and low voltage electrical equipment Ø Analyze basic building system problems, alone or as part of a team. Ø Responds to emergency problems in the facility and makes emergency repairs as needed. Ø Performs similar basic maintenance duties on any shift as assigned, and contacts supervisors, skilled trades vendors, or on-call personnel as instructed. Ø Maintains logs, performs rounds, completes P.M. work orders, tests, and inspections. Makes recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems. Ø A Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) may or not be applicable to each site. If a CMMS is present, then the work orders will be tracked and maintained utilizing the designated platform. If a CMMS is not present, an electronic filing program must be kept and maintained. Ø Maintains shops and mechanical areas in a clean and safe manner. Ø Performs related and other departmental duties as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent - 2 years of trade school or "on the job" related experience - 2 years' experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or technician in a similar sized institution in an engineering or maintenance occupation. Ability to read, comprehend and transmit complicated detailed instructions in writing and orally. Residential/Apartment Maintenance experience a plus.
Equipment, Machine, or Manual Skills Required:
General understanding of electro-mechanical equipment. A demonstrated skill in one trade and basic understanding of other trades acquired through similar on-the-job training.
Physical Demands:
Sits, stands, bends, kneels, climbs stairs, ladders, and equipment, has good sense of balance to work on heights. Some lifting of medium and/or heavy equipment and tools.
Working Conditions:
Some exposure to extreme degrees of heat, noise, dust and dirt areas requiring infection control. Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions sometimes under stress. Work whatever hours necessary to maintain facility in safe manner including weekends and nights.
