Shelby Township, MI Job Overview We are seeking a Maintenance Technician with previous manufacturing maintenance experience to join a growing plastic injection molding facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into a long-term role while working alongside an experienced maintenance professional prior to retirement. This position is designed as an "intern-style" mentorship opportunity where the selected candidate will train directly with the current maintenance technician to learn the equipment, processes, and day-to-day operations of the facility. We are not currently seeking someone at a senior-level compensation or expertise level, but rather a motivated candidate with solid foundational maintenance experience who is eager to learn and grow within the company. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues Assist with maintenance of molding machines and auxiliary equipment Help maintain spare parts inventory and order replacement parts as needed Support building and facility maintenance including lighting, plumbing, and repairs Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment Communicate effectively with production and scheduling teams Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned Qualifications Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required Plastic injection molding experience preferred Basic troubleshooting skills in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems Experience using hand tools and maintenance equipment Strong attendance and willingness to learn Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office preferred Additional Information Temp-to-hire opportunity Compensation is dependent on experience Starting pay begins at $25.00 per hour Great opportunity for long-term growth and hands-on training
