Maintenance Technician (Sun-Thurs)

Piper Shores is Maine's premier nonprofit continuing care retirement community, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing Care for our residents with a person-centered approach to care. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our talented Facilities team to ensure the upkeep and repair of all aspects of our physical plant. We have two beautiful campuses in Scarborough - our Oceanside campus, and The Meadows (slated to open in late June). This role is eligible for a $2,500 sign-on bonus, paid out quarterly. Full-time, Sunday - Thursday, 1st shift (7:30-4p)

Responsibilities:

Provides service and care to residents in their homes as well as around the broader community. Performs general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair and appliance repairs. Assists with painting and refurbishing projects Performs routine preventive maintenance Assists with snow removal efforts during winter months.

Qualifications:

Technical training in area of specialty required Warm and friendly demeanor with a positive approach to interacting with Seniors and co-workers. At least one year of professional experience within a trade profession. Certifications and license in specialty areas achieved; must be maintained Valid driver's license and good driving record. Ability to independently lift up to 100 pounds Physical dexterity and ability to spend long periods of time standing and walking required.
