Maintenance Wood-Working Machine Technician

Responsible for machine, facility, and preventative maintenance at a furniture manufacturing plant. Must be able to perform mechanical tasks such as preventative maintenance, machine repair, metal fabrication, welding, plumbing, painting and other common maintenance tasks by performing the following duties:

• Ensures all machinery is working properly and safely. Dismantles machines or equipment, replaces defective parts, and motors, and adjusts feed mechanisms.
• Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
• Replaces or repairs machine belts.
• Bends, cuts, and threads pipe, cuts openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes and seals pipe joints with sealing compound.
• Operates welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
• Cleans work area, machines and equipment.
• Operates forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts as required.
• Troubleshoot control circuits in product equipment.
• Implement electrical/component improvements on equipment for better and safer performance.
• Evaluating operational systems and recommending design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions and improve productivity.
• Reports to Facility Manager with any emergency issues or parts that are needed.
• Must know field wiring and control wiring.

Qualifications:

Experience Required:

5-10 years previous maintenance related experience. Specific skills, knowledge and abilities required: Mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading, ability to use hand and power tools, Demonstrate Microsoft experience. Demonstrate AutoCAD experience.

• Ability to work with a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license.
• Must have a clean vehicle driving record due to required driving of company vehicles when needed.
