GENERAL OVERVIEW
This job serves as a Physician liaison and a resource for others in the department. Performs imaging procedures within applicable scope and standards of practice and in accordance with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Delivers a positive patient experience and serves as a role model for the Core Behaviors. Collaborates with AHN leadership, staff, physician offices and designated external agencies and vendors.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs all essential job responsibilities of a Mammography Technologist, including but not limited to performing age-specific diagnostic imaging per established protocols. Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, physicians and other team members. Addresses patient and physician concerns. Responds to adverse events and/or any changes with patient's status. (50%) Acts as a day-to-day mentor/resource for staff and others within the department. Orients and trains new staff and students. (20%) Performs and/or trains others relative to quality assurance activities, quality control, and regulatory testing and accreditation preparation/documentation. (10%) Participates in standardization activities and process improvement initiatives with system-level workgroups. (10%) Demonstrates proficiency in the performance of specialty exams and analyzes data promptly to resolve problems and improve efficiency. (10%) Coverage of chief tech duties for PTO or vacancy Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2 years as a registered mammography technologist Mammography certification CPR - American Heart Association Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Preferred Experience with training, mentoring of staff
