Day Shift Job Description:
A Brief Overview Manages staff in Diagnostic Imaging and plays an integral role in departmental operations, including but not limited to; recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, staff time and attendance, promoting, discharging, assigning work, evaluating, rewarding, and disciplining. Also includes assisting the Vice President of Diagnostic Imaging with budgeting, management of supplies and capital equipment assessment and procurement. Assumes leadership role of overall department in the Vice Presidents absence. What you will do Employee Performance/Department Management
  • Perform direct supervision of staff, to include clinical and performance reviews.
  • Plan, prepare, and approve employee work schedules.
  • Forecast necessary levels of staffing and stock at different times to facilitate effective scheduling and ordering.
  • Ensure that staff applies primary knowledge while performing all aspects of assigned tasks.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards.
  • Ensure that staff develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care for patient.
  • Respond to complaints in a timely manner.
  • Participate in training and orientation of new staff; provides ongoing education.
  • Evaluate employee performance and recommend personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
  • Instruct staff in work policies and procedures, and the use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Confer with staff to resolve performance and personnel problems, and to discuss company policies.
  • Screen, interview, and recruit job applicants for hiring new employees.
  • Support preceptors and other staff with education of students during clinical rotations.
  • Perform rounding throughout the department on a regular basis. Operational Oversight
  • Oversee the workflow of the department and communicate standards.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Inventory stock to ensure that supplies and equipment are available in adequate amounts.
  • Assist with selection or purchase of new equipment, supplies, or furnishings.
  • Issue supplies and equipment to workers.
  • Maintain required records of work hours, budgets, payrolls, and other information.
  • Perform or assist with departmental operation duties as necessary.
  • Participate and/or lead meetings.
  • Recommend changes that could improve service and increase operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other internal and external leaders, vendors, and/or suppliers. Compliance and Risk Management
  • Implement and maintain production and quality standards for staff.
  • Respond to complaints in a timely manner.
  • Ensure documentation is completed according to department policies and procedures.
  • Investigate complaints about service and equipment, and take corrective action.
Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology Required Previous experience in a radiological sciences field Required Previous experience in a leadership position Preferred Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Teaching others how to do something. Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. Modalities include:
General Radiology, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine. DI manager may also serve as PACS Administrator. Certification by the American Board of Imaging Informatics•
