View More Jobs Manager, Business Intelligence Trumbull, CT, United States and 1 more (On-site) Be the First to Apply Job Description The Business Intelligence Delivery Manager partners closely with business teams to understand, document, code, test, and deliver business intelligence solutions that meet organizational requirements. Delivery management within Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics is both complex and multifaceted. While ensuring that BI and analytics projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the expected quality is a core responsibility, the role extends far beyond task coordination. BI Delivery Managers also play a strategic role in maximizing the value of an organization's BI and analytics investments, helping teams leverage data effectively to drive performance and decision-making.
Job Summary:
The Business Intelligence Delivery Manager serves as both a champion and a liaison between business and IT, ensuring that all business intelligence and analytical needs are fully understood, articulated, and documented. This role is accountable for delivering technical solutions that address those documented business requirements by leading a combination of direct team members and strategic partner resources. The BI Delivery Manager ensures that all solutions are executed in alignment with the overall CooperSurgical BI strategy as defined by the
BI Senior Director, Data Management & Analytics Responsibilities Business Engagement & Requirements Management:
Identify improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to enhance the delivery of reporting and analytics products. Gather, document, and validate all business data and analytics needs by closely collaborating with and interviewing business partners. Translate business needs into clear, actionable requests, forming the basis for initiatives, projects, and enhancement efforts. Create and maintain product roadmaps aligned to business priorities and BI strategic objectives.
Intake, Prioritization & Work Management:
Guide BI Architects, Data Engineers/ETL Analysts, and Reporting Analysts to break down business requests into meaningful IT intakes. Oversee and support the Delivery Coordinator in creating and managing IT intake backlogs. Prioritize intakes, provide timely status updates, and supply clarifications required by the technical team through ongoing interaction with business stakeholders . Review and manage weekly technical team capacity to ensure alignment with business priorities . Partner with the BI Program Manager to negotiate and secure additional capacity as needed . Operational & Financial Metrics Oversight Manage and present monthly (or as needed) operational and financial reviews with the BI Program Manager, covering: Backlog volume changes Changes implemented in the current release Changes planned for the next release Hours of capacity used in the current release Hours of capacity planned for the next release Number of defects identified in the release Number of incidents identified in the release Hours of capacity used for incident resolution Oversee reporting on daily, weekly, and monthly support metrics—including report usage, dashboard performance, and data load health—and socialize insights with business partners. Develop action plans to address low-usage reports by working directly with business users Align internal resources and third-party/vendor teams, in coordination with the Delivery Coordinator, to ensure flawless project execution. Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with BI strategic objectives. Track and analyze project performance to identify blockers, risks, resource gaps, and schedule variances. Define project scope and objectives while ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with stakeholder expectations. Manage project teams to ensure tasks, schedules, timelines, and deliverables stay on track. Communicate changes to project scope or schedule to management in a clear and timely manner. Recommend improvements based on performance metrics, delivery outcomes, or retrospective findings. Escalate critical risks or issues to management as appropriate .
People Leadership & Operational Transition:
Prepare and present team performance reviews, ensuring clear assessment of contributions and development areas. Oversee project closeout, ensuring documentation is complete and deliverables are successfully transitioned to operations/support teams .
Travel Requirements :
Domestic and/or international travel is estimated at 10% annually.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data and business requirements. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage large, diverse, and cross‑functional teams; experience leading global teams is a plus. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Strong organizational capabilities, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously . Excellent client‑facing and internal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes . Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Office position Long exposure to computer screen and keyboard/mouse
Experience:
3-5 years of experience working within Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics programs. Hands ‑ on experience with BI reporting tools such as Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms. Experience with data warehousing concepts and SQL; familiarity with pre ‑ packaged analytics tools such as Noetix is a plus. Experience in business relationship management and program/project management practices. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with data governance concepts and tools is a plus. Experience with master data management (MDM) concepts and tools is a plus. Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a technology discipline is desired or commensurate experience to meet requirements.
