Job Summary Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical) | Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield | Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance) | Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems | Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures Impact of the Role General Profile Supervises the daily activities of support staff or production team members. Does not typically perform the work supervised Must have any type of one direct report or more Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors Problem solving is guided by policies and procedures; receives guidance and oversight from manager Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment Essential Functions Supervises a combination of two or more of the following: machine shop, tool making, pipefitting, masonry, painting, electrical, carpentry or other skilled employees. Follows a daily and weekly schedule to effectively assign maintenance and repair tasks and may use a work order system to track work orders. Responsible for training and development of staff, including: estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies. Maintains a replacement and spare part inventory at required levels. Ensures all work and material handling follow established safety procedures and regulations. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from the HR Directors & General Managers Required Qualifications Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree Knowledge, skills & abilities: Automation Calibration. Equipment Maintenance. Failure Analysis. Manufacturing Support. Mechanical Troubleshooting. Numerical Control. Production Support. Refurbishment. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Inspect Repairs. Equipment Repairs. Mechanical Maintenance. Equipment Monitoring. Process Documentation. Leadership Skills. Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds. May need to stand for long periods of time. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
