Job Description

Lead a Team. Elevate Patient Care. Drive Results. Deaconess Illinois Crossroads is seeking a Nursing Manager to oversee our Medical/Surgical and ICU units . This role is ideal for an experienced RN who thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment and is passionate about leading teams, improving outcomes, and delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
Job Overview:
As Nursing Manager - Med/Surg & ICU, you will provide overall leadership and daily operations for both units. You'll guide your team in delivering high-quality care, ensure adherence to clinical best practices, and create a safe, efficient environment that supports patients and staff. This role includes staff leadership, budget oversight, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management:
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff; manage staffing and schedules for both Med/Surg and ICU units.
Patient Care:
Oversee patient care, ensuring adherence to evidence-based protocols across Med/Surg and ICU populations.
Quality & Safety:
Lead quality improvement initiatives, monitor outcomes, and uphold safety standards.
Resource Management:
Manage unit budget, staffing, and supplies; ensure effective resource utilization.
Collaboration:
Partner with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement care plans.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and safety procedures.
Patient/Family Support:
Provide education and support to patients and families.
Qualifications:
RN with current Illinois license BSN required (or ability to obtain within 3 years of hire) 3-5 years nursing experience , including 2+ years in a leadership role Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Required Experience:
At least five years in a clinical setting , preferably including ICU experience Three years previous management experience preferred
Compensation & Incentives:
Hourly:
$36.30-$54.44 Performance-based bonus potential Evening/night/weekend shift incentives per policy
