Job Description
Manager, Product Management
- Prometheus Financial Core (PFC) Product Management at Capital One is a booming, vibrant craft that requires reimagining the status quo, finding value creation opportunities, and driving innovative and sustainable customer experiences through technology.
- About the Team
- As a Product Manager, you will be at the forefront of defining what high availability looks like for an updated, cloud-native bank.
- What You'll Do
- + •Lead the
Platform Reliability Strategy:
- You will define the roadmap for system-wide fault isolation and blast radius reduction. You leverage cell-based architecture to ensure that localized service disruptions do not impact the broader customer base or compromise platform integrity. +
Define Availability Standards:
- Support the definition and implementation of Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets. You will work with engineering partners to ensure these aren't just metrics on a dashboard, but actionable drivers of the product development lifecycle. +
- Drive Engineering Partnership
- : Serve as the bridge between business intent and technical implementation. You will translate complex resilience needs into technical specifications, partnering with engineers on system design reviews and circuit-breaking logic. +
Stakeholder & Risk Management:
- Partner across organizational boundaries with Risk, Cyber, and Line of Business (LOB) stakeholders to align on uptime requirements and mitigation strategies. You will use data-driven storytelling to communicate platform health and the business impact of resilience investments. +
Problem Solving & Insights:
- Leverage data to identify potential single points of failure and advocate for architectural improvements. You will stay ahead of the curve on industry trends in cloud reliability to ensure Capital One remains a leader in platform stability.

Basic Qualifications:
- + At least 3 years of experience working in Product Management + Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: + A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) + A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration •
Preferred Qualifications:

McLean, VA:
$164,800- $188,100 for
Manager, Product Management New York, NY:
$179,700- $205,100 for Manager, Product Management Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
