This position is responsible for overseeing, executing, and maintaining all assembly operations according to production scheduling, complying with and enforcing strict quality control, and ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel. Responsibilities:
Responsible for coordinating and overseeing all functions in assembly manufacturing to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality and safety. Participate in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, schedules and procedures. Coach Supervisors to ensure that they are strong people leaders, and train new supervisors on plant operations. Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment with production, purchasing, engineering, sales, quality, finance, human resources and other stake holders within the organization to achieve company objectives. Maintain a variety of reports, records and production documentation to reflect performance. Work effectively with other supervisors and production managers to resolve conflicts, meet overall objectives, and manage change. Make daily decisions regarding the use of resources across multiple lines in order to maintain effective overall operations (includes manpower, materials, and scheduling). Maintain operational and administrative discipline within scope of responsibility by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of time/attendance records . Participate and assist in safety/quality audits and associated corrective actions. Develop and execute effective cross-training plans. Manage the flow of product assembly through the assembly line to prevent bottlenecks. Lead continuous improvement to reduce waste and improve product quality. Directly manage assembly line supervisors, leads, and assembly operators. Conduct performance reviews, track productivity metrics, and maintain team morale. Enforce OSHA safety guidelines and plant-specific safety rules to minimize workplace accidents. Monitor labor and overtime usage to ensure efficiency goals and company budget are met. Education Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualifications Requires at least 5 years' current experience as Assembly or Production Supervisor Ability to lead and influence others in a production environment Requires tact and good judgment. Possess and demonstrate good human relations skills. Excellent communications skills, both written and oral. Good attendance and work history. Must be capable of working flexible hours and overtime. Split shift required during peak season and when 2nd shift operations are active Requires strong knowledge of production processes
