Flexible; nights, weekends, and up to 50% overnight travel as business needs require This position directly impacts driver safety, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and regional financial performance while reinforcing Maverik's commitment to excellence and reliability. Position Summary & Key Responsibilities Provide leadership to direct reports, including hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development Direct and coach drivers on best practices, safety standards, and operational efficiency Promote continuous improvement in productivity, safety, and service performance Ensure driver qualification files, equipment records, and safety documentation are maintained according to established guidelines Serve as a driver advocate by partnering with internal departments to resolve questions, concerns, and issues Coordinate dispatch communications with customers, suppliers, and drivers to ensure service alignment Manage regional P&L, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for cost control and performance improvement Advise on budget management and recommend cost-control strategies Partner with Lead Drivers and Dispatch to oversee equipment maintenance and fleet readiness Facilitate training to ensure compliance with SOPs, safety protocols, and company policies Lead initial response efforts for incidents and accidents, including reporting and investigation support Ensure compliance with DOT, governmental, and safety regulations Maintain schedule flexibility to meet business needs Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred 5+ years of experience in the transportation industry Prior leadership experience preferred Experience in crude transportation strongly preferred Active CDL with professional driving experience preferred Knowledge of DOT regulations (local, state, and federal) Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Core Competencies Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to deliver consistent, proactive, and high-quality operational support Strong sense of urgency with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset Ability to build constructive working relationships through collaboration and mutual respect Willingness to proactively identify and address operational risks and opportunities Awareness of industry and market trends impacting operational competitiveness
