Job DescriptionThis position is based in the Western United States, with flexibility to work from several regional offices.

The Managing Consultant will operate in a dynamic environment that includes project management, business development, client engagement, mentoring junior staff, and independent technical work.

The team supports growing demand for environmental noise and vibration assessments across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, transportation, ports, and industrial development.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage acoustical consulting projects and maintain client relationshipsDevelop and execute project strategies and methodologiesSupport business development efforts and evaluate market trendsLead teams in developing innovative solutions to complex environmental noise challengesConduct and oversee technical analyses, including:

Environmental noise surveysSound level analysisAcoustic modeling (e.g., CadnaA, SoundPlan, or similar)Mitigation design and specificationPrepare technical reports, proposals, and cost estimatesMentor and develop junior staffInterpret and apply environmental laws, regulations, and standards at various jurisdictional levelsRequired QualificationsEducationBachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related fieldExperience10+ years of experience in acoustical consulting, with a focus on environmental noise5+ years of experience with environmental review processes specific to regional regulatory frameworks (e.g., environmental impact assessments)Demonstrated experience managing environmental noise assessment projectsTechnical ExpertiseStrong knowledge of environmental review processes (e.g., initial studies, environmental impact reports)Experience evaluating laws, ordinances, regulations, and standards at local and regional levelsExpertise in assessing noise and vibration impacts from construction, transportation, and industrial operationsAbility to develop practical mitigation strategiesExperience working with regulatory agencies and stakeholdersProficiency in data analysis tools, spreadsheet software, and acoustic modeling softwareWhat the Organization OffersOpportunities for professional growth and career developmentDiverse and challenging project workCollaborative and supportive leadershipInclusive work environment valuing diverse perspectivesFlexible work arrangementsCompetitive paid time off and benefitsComprehensive health and retirement plansCompensationCompensation varies based on location, experience, and qualifications.
