Job Description:
LHH is seeking a highly motivated Automation Engineer to support and enhance production operations for our client. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who thrives at the intersection of design, programming, and on-site implementation. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving productivity, quality, and reliability across manufacturing processes. The anticipated salary for this role is between $100,000-$130,000 a year.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement automated systems, controls, and processes to reduce manual effort and increase operational efficiency. Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and robotic systems to support manufacturing operations. Diagnose and resolve issues with automated equipment, sensors, and control systems to minimize downtime. Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning, including coordination with vendors, scheduling, and budget oversight. Evaluate production workflows, identify opportunities for automation, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Verify that all systems adhere to relevant safety regulations as well as internal company requirements. Develop and keep comprehensive records, including system designs, electrical schematics, testing protocols, and operational guidelines.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in automation engineering, controls engineering, or robotics within a manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Effective communication and collaboration skills Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Experience with industrial automation tools and control systems
