Job Description

Aviation Technologies, Inc. manufactures highly engineered composite products and is a leading supplier to the aerospace industry, providing quality products used for many different aerospace applications including lightning mitigation, defense and commercial aerospace. This position is accountable for understanding lathe machine programming and tooling requirements for manufacturing final products. As a member of the engineering team, you will have opportunities to provide solutions for manufacturing critical aerospace components while growing long term with a great company. Position Duties Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Takes ownership of assigned projects and understands various responsibilities in working with different departments and managers.
  • Works to understand project requirements and translates them into deliverable products.
  • Experience in programming and running a variety of CNC lathes and Mills.
  • Knowledge and experience with CAD, CAM, and SolidWorks. This is for conversational programming using BobCAD/CAM and SolidWorks. Master CAM will also be considered.
  • Experience with machining, power tools, welding, and metal fabrication.
  • Shares a willingness to learn other software such as Fibergrafix.
  • Ability to plan out project tasks that align with milestones for testing and development.
  • Actively seeks out potential barriers to progress. Also, can take actions or create short-term plans to remove or mitigate the effects of such barriers
  • Works well with others to communicate scope and objectives needed for manufacturing aerospace products while respecting procedures and project requirements.
  • Ability to gather and report basic dimensions using measurement tools.
  • Experience with GD&T.
  • Computer fluency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Actively promotes and monitors opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Personal commitment to safety and performs all other related duties as requested.
  • Must have good oral, written communications and have a high level of moral and ethical codes.
  • Perform all other related duties and assignments as requested.
Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Composites Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent technical degree. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of CNC programming experience Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated. Ability to read and fully understand engineering drawings. Proficient with all Microsoft Office products including MS Excel and Project. Ability to multi-task. Able to work in a team environment and work across functions and departments in developing information and solutions. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to sit frequently. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance.
