Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary:

The Food, Beverage & Pharmaceutical Product Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of manufacturing processes such as line efficiencies, material flow, and lean principles. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work closely with team members within Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Quality to ensure timely production and launch of new and existing products and maintenance of line improvement projects. Primary Job Duties:

Optimize work center layouts, material flow and processes to improve productivity and eliminate waste. Design fixtures for work centers including 3D printing parts. Create work instructions for assembled and fabricated components. Champion 5S and Lean Manufacturing culture on the shop floor. Provide root cause analysis support to eliminate disturbances. Improve product throughput by reducing cycle times, setup times, and overall lead time. Work with production teams to drive KPI (key performance indicator) improvement. Manage and coordinate product and equipment launches, installations and phase out activities. Commission new capital equipment in production. Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety and environmental regulations. Monitor and improve operational processes. Maintain knowledge of best-in-class processes for product configuration and assembly. Direct and implement lean and green activities to support S&O's Lean Culture. Work effectively with functions such as Safety, Distribution, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales and HR. Other duties as assigned.

Primary Competencies:

Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality. Proficient in 3D modeling with preferred knowledge of Autodesk Inventor. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Able to develop and maintain professional relationships with all departments. Able to complete assignments on time and on budget. Demonstrated ability to work with others and in a team setting. Must be a collaborative team player but also be able to lead as necessary to drive and implement change. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and ERP software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering preferred. 5 or more years of manufacturing improvement experience preferred. CNC machining experience or working in a machining environment strongly preferred. Lean Certification is preferred. Able to occasionally travel if needed.

Salary :

$85,000-$105,000 annually Sign-on bonus!
