Manufacturing Engineer I Specialty Coating Systems United States, Wisconsin, Clear Lake May 22, 2026 Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs root cause failure analysis. Performs cost reduction evaluations and implements process improvement and cost saving measures. Provides customer technical support. Creates manufacturing standard procedures and work instructions, providing updates as necessary. Assists operations personnel with processing issues. Makes proposals for specification changes to customer or supplier prints/drawings. Researches and creates CapEx proposals. Brings special projects to fruition, on time, with satisfactory results.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Adheres to plant and corporate safety and quality policies. Provides guidance and information to technicians. Assists in other areas or accepts other assignments as required by changing business needs.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree (B.S.) in engineering or related discipline from a four year college or university with two or more years of work experience in engineering in a manufacturing setting. Exposure to or training in Lean Manufacturing or Operational Excellence is required.
BASIC SKILLS
Ability to interact professionally with customers and co-workers. Ability to speak, read and write in English. Highly organized, self-motivated and works independently Able to manage multiple tasks and/or priorities and readily adapt to changing situations. Ability to use precision measuring and laboratory instruments, such as
FTIR, U/V
vis spectrophotometer, calipers, scales, micrometers, profilometer or similar test/inspection equipment. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other lower-level personnel. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Demonstrated analytical and technical ability within field of expertise. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Demonstrated capacity to work with Microsoft Office Products, Lotus Notes and other critical computer applications.
