  • You will be the Manufacturing Engineer Staff for Ocala Operation's Surface Mount Technology \(SMT\) department\. At Lockheed Martin, you can build a career out of making things happen\! Ocala Operations is a multi
  • shift manufacturing facility that build circuit card, wiring harnesses, and electro
  • assemblies\. Ocala specializes in both low volume
  • high mix and high volume production that has a combination of automated processes as well as labor intensive manufacturing\. Ocala Operations has a represented manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team\.
  • What You Will Be Doing:
  • As the Manufacturing Engineer Staff you will be responsible for developing and executing manufacturing processes that drive quality, efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness\. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and implement Manufacturing Processes Plans for circuit card assemblies, from prototype through high volume production\.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and support equipment using CAD software tools\.
  • Provide technical guidance to operators and troubleshoot assembly performance\.
  • Apply lean principles to reduce cost and increase yields\.
  • Investigate root causes of failures and drive corrective actions\.

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college, or related military experience in addition to previously listed degree options\.
  • 5\+ years of professional experience\.
  • Surface Mount Technology \(SMT\) manufacturing experience\.
  • Desired Skills:
  • Experience configuring and supporting placement machines, solder paste printers, reflow ovens, AOI/X ray systems, or other automated equipment\.
  • Full knowledge of industry standards and practices, including IPC J
  • STD•001 and IPC•A•610\.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate priorities across 20\+ customers\.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvement initiatives\.
  • Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert \(SME\) for several manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication, writing, and verbal skills
  • Recognized as an effective mentor or trainer of new engineers\.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Familiarity with PLM systems \(Windchill preferred\)
  • Ability to use CAD software \(Creo preferred\)

  • Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.
