Manufacturing Engineer

  • Full-time Ideal Industries is an innovative fabrication company aligned with a leading manufacturer of commercial Sewer and Excavation Equipment.
We are looking for a proactive Manufacturing Engineer to support our production team. In this role, you will design and refine manufacturing processes to ensure maximum efficiency, safety, and product quality on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities Process Optimization:
Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods by applying your knowledge of product design, materials, and fabrication.
Design-to-Production Bridge:
Collaborate with Product Engineering to integrate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) into all components routed to Vinton production.
Tooling & Fixturing:
Enhance worker safety and production accuracy by designing specialized jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
Workflow Efficiency:
Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to analyze floor layouts, eliminate bottlenecks, and reduce waste.
Technical Support:
Act as the primary technical contact for the production team to resolve challenges and deviations.
Documentation:
Maintain manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and detailed work instructions within our ERP system.
Continuous Improvement:
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for any process failures or defects.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience:
1-3 years in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD software; Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Made2Manage is a significant advantage. Strong background in welding and fabrication processes.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both shop floor personnel and executive leadership.
