Job Description:
As a member of the executive leadership team, the Manufacturing Manager - Refurbishment & Custom is responsible for the cost effective operations and for the infrastructure to deliver high quality products. Establishes goals, monitors work/work flow, and evaluates results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Direct and monitor staff to meet and exceed goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Direct and manage daily plant operations for production, maintenance, engineering, quality assurance, safety, and production control. Create operational metrics to measure and improve competitive position and the profitability of the operation. Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards. Responsible for developing and recommending policies, programs, procedures to maintain and improve the competitive position of the organization. Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff. Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries. Initiate and coordinate major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.). Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance Responsible for ensuring Plant Operations are in compliance with all Government Agency Regulations Develops, implements, and sustains new methods and procedures to drive improvements in quality and safety. Manages departmental activity to comply with all applicable safety laws and regulations, as well as Company safety policies, procedures and standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 5
years progressive manufacturing / operations management experience Bachelor's degree 10 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably in a build to order custom environment, low volume, high mix. Efficient project management skills Computer proficient (Word, Excel, Power Point, E-mail). Experience working with manufacturing based technology, processes and principles Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements. Proven ability to effectively manage a large number of employees Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles MBA
