Job Description

The Manufacturing Production Control Support role is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and supporting daily production activities within the Final Assembly area of the final assembly department. This position ensures production schedules are executed efficiently; materials and information are available at point-of-use, and priorities are clearly communicated to meet customer delivery, quality, and productivity targets. The role acts as a key link between Production Control, Final Assembly, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to support smooth workflow for custom and standard lighting products. Key Responsibilities Production Scheduling & Execution Support the daily and weekly production schedule for Final Assembly based on customer demand, capacity, and material availability Monitor production progress versus schedule and escalate delays or constraints Reprioritize work orders as needed to support ship dates and expedite requests Shop Floor Support Act as the primary production control contact for Final Assembly supervisors and team leads Ensure work instructions, drawings, and BOMs are current and available Help resolve issues related to missing parts, incorrect documentation, or order discrepancies Support line balancing and workload leveling in a mixed-model, high‑variability environment Material & Inventory Coordination Coordinate with Material Planning, Purchasing, and Stockroom to ensure timely availability of components (extrusions, drivers, optics, wiring, housings, packaging) Track shortages and support root cause analysis for material-related downtime Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, transaction audits, and reconciliation Data Tracking & Reporting Maintain accurate production status in ERP/MRP systems Track key metrics such as schedule adherence, WIP levels, throughput, and on-time completion Prepare daily production reports and communicate status to Operations and Production Control Continuous Improvement Support lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, visual controls, standard work, kanban) Participate in process improvement projects to reduce lead time, WIP, and production variation Assist with implementation of ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) in Final Assembly Qualifications (Required) High school diploma or equivalent 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing support, production control, or scheduling Experience working in a final assembly or build-to-order manufacturing environment Basic understanding of ERP/MRP systems and shop floor transactions Strong organizational and communication skills Preferred Experience in lighting, electronics, or electromechanical assembly manufacturing Familiarity with linear lighting products (LED fixtures, drivers, extrusions) Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Business, Supply Chain, or related field Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposure Skills & Competencies Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills Attention to detail and data accuracy Comfortable working directly on the production floor Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis Clear and professional communication across departments Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Schedule adherence (Final Assembly) On-time work order completion WIP accuracy and control Material shortage-driven downtime ERP transaction accuracy Work Environment Manufacturing floor and office environment Regular interaction with production associates and supervisors May require standing, walking the floor, and light material handling Occasional overtime to support peak production periods Compensation The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This hourly rate is $25.50.
