Job Description
The Quality Inspector (Entry-Level) at ESS Fabrication LLC will assist in ensuring the quality and integrity of our fabrication processes. This position is open to individuals who have completed relevant training in welding or welding inspection, and/or have up to 2 years of experience in a similar role. It offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience while following ASME standards and company-specific welding procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Visual Weld Inspections:
Assist in performing visual inspections of welds to ensure they meet ASME Section IX welding standards and ESS Fabrication LLC's Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Welding Procedure /Ticket Compliance:
Ensure welders follow ASME-qualified welding procedures according to the company's WPS / Welder's Ticket . Assist in evaluating welds for acceptability based on ASME Section IX standards and customer specifications.Documentation of Inspections:
Maintain accurate records of inspections, including visual assessments of welds, in compliance with the ESS Fabrication LLC Quality Manual and ASME standards. Verification of Fit up /Testing of Equipment :
Verification of fabrication process including fit up and testing.Non-Conformance Reporting:
Identify and document any defects or deviations from welding standards, assisting in corrective actions. Collaboration withTeam:
Work closely with the fabrication team to ensure that proper fabrication techniques are followed and quality standards are maintained.Safety Compliance:
Follow all ESS Fabrication LLC's safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment in accordance with ASME safety protocols.Inspection Equipment Maintenance:
Help maintain inspection tools and equipment, ensuring they are properly calibrated and in good working condition.Coordination of Job:
The Quality inspector will also coordinate the status of job and support manufacturing operations by reporting to top management and central Quality Control Manager and Production Manager.Qualifications:
Education:
Required:
Diploma from Trade School or equivalent.Preferred:
Completion of a welding or welding inspection-related education program (such as a Welding Technology or Welding Inspection program).Knowledge & Skills:
Basic knowledge of welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) and materials. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings , welding symbols , and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) . Ability to apply ASME Section IX welding standards to evaluate weld quality. Training will be provided if not well verse with ASME. Strong attention to detail and understanding of welding quality assurance principles. Good communication skills for reporting and collaborating with team members. Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to new training and responsibilities.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in fabrication environments Ability to stand for extended periods and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, helmets, and ear protection.Work Environment:
This position is based in a fabrication or manufacturing environment with typical conditions found in welding operations, such as heat, fumes, and noise. All safety protocols must be followed, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) must be worn at all times. Certifications/Training (Preferred but Not Required): Welding Inspection Fundamentals or Welding Quality Control course (preferred, but not required). ASME Section IX or other welding inspection-related courses (preferred, but not required). ESS will provide official training and guidance on quality system. 1 to 2 years of experience is beneficial in a similar inspection role but not mandatory. Opportunity for further certifications in welding inspection or quality control in the future.Probationary Period Requirements:
The first 90 days of employment will be considered a probationary period. During the probationary period, the employee will be evaluated on the following: Ability to follow inspection protocols and quality control measures. Proficiency in inspections and identifying non-conformances. Adherence to company safety protocols and quality standards. Successful completion of any required on-the-job training sessions.Performance Review:
At the end of the probationary period, a formal performance review will be conducted to assess the individual's suitability for permanent employment. Continued employment will be contingent upon satisfactory performance during this period.Job Type:
