We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Technician to support manufacturing operations in our production environment. This role is responsible for advanced CNC setup, programming, and operation, with a strong emphasis on machining fiberglass and composite materials. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, the ability to work independently, and a proven track record of producing high‑quality parts to exacting specifications.
Responsibilities:
Program, edit, and optimize G‑code for CNC machining centers (at the machine and/or via CAM systems)
Perform complex machine setups, including fixturing, tooling selection, offsets, and work coordinate systems
Machine fiberglass and composite materials to tight tolerances and surface‑finish requirements
Interpret and execute work based on engineering drawings, GD&T, blueprints, and process documentation
Select appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting strategies for composite machining
Conduct in‑process inspections using precision measuring instruments
Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling wear, vibration, surface quality, and dimensional variability
Monitor production output to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and efficiency standards
Maintain accurate production, inspection, and maintenance documentation
Adhere to all safety protocols, material handling guidelines, and PPE requirements
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Advanced proficiency in G‑code programming
Extensive experience setting up and operating CNC machining centers
Hands‑on experience machining fiberglass and other composite materials
Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining tolerances
Proficient with CAD/CAM software and post‑processing workflows
Associate Degree in Manufacturing Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
5-7 years of progressive CNC machining and programming experience in a production environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with multi‑axis CNC machining (3‑, 4‑, or 5‑axis)
Experience with filament winding or composite manufacturing processes
Demonstrated ability to optimize cycle times and improve machining efficiency
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement skills
Experience with CREO
