Job Summary:

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The position works as a member of the zoned timber shop to perform timber sale preparation duties, Painting unit boundaries, using GPS units, helping layout units, and cruising. Primary duties will be painting unit boundaries. You will carry between 35 and 50 pounds of weight with you during the painting processes 6 to 10 cans in your vest. Working in all kinds of terrain and weather conditions throughout the week. The size of units varies between 5 acres and 300 or more acres; you will be hiking a lot of miles daily. Other Primary duties will be to use GPS units, you will be walking around the timber units to get the shape and acres of each unit using a Trimble device to get the information. Like painting the unit boundaries, you will be working in all different kinds of terrain and weather conditions. Other duties will include helping the presale crew layout timber units, cruise timber sale, and any other duties the forest needs. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, start time 0600 to 1630, 10-hour days with a 30-minute lunch and breaks when needed.
