Job Description
Ed. Tech III Welding and Metal Fabrication Program Sanford Regional Technical Center | Sanford, Maine The Sanford Regional Technical Center (SRTC) in Sanford, Maine is seeking to hire a dynamic and flexible individual to serve as an Ed. Tech III for our well-established Welding and Metal Fabrication Program. This unique opportunity is a full-time position that will begin the end of August 2026 for the 26-27 School year. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of welding, metal fabrication, or a related trade and will be able to work effectively with high school students in an active shop environment. They will work collaboratively with the instructor to create a safe, organized learning environment that encourages student engagement, while supporting delivery of the program's curriculum to prepare students for post-secondary employment or further education in the welding and fabrication field. The successful candidate will possess a desire to work with young people and contribute positively to the broader SRTC team. Flexibility to provide coverage in other Center programs as needed is essential. SRTC enrolls over 778 students from eight sending schools in southern Maine. The eight York County High Schools in SRTC's catchment area are: Kennebunk, Marshwood, Massabesic, Noble, Sanford, Traip Academy, Wells, and York. Ed. Techs provide supportive educational services to certified personnel in Pre-K�12 schools. There are three levels of authorization for increasing levels of responsibilities for the planning and supervision of students, which require increasing levels of qualifications, as defined below: C. Ed.
Tech III Qualifications:
a. Document a minimum of ninety (90) credits of approved study in an educationally related field; or, for career and technical education authorization, document a minimum of three (3) years of paid applied employment within the field of assignment; b. Document participation in in-service training required in the specialty area of employment; and c. Have the ability to relate to students, school personnel, and the public.Permitted Responsibilities:
a. Perform all of the duties of an Ed. Tech I and II; and b. Supervise small groups of students in community-based programs.Job Goal:
To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning shop environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available tools, equipment, and resource materials.Reports to:
Welding and Metal Fabrication Instructor and School Administration.Job Requirements:
CHRC (fingerprinting) and Ed. Tech III eligibility Some relevant education or industry experience in welding, metal fabrication, or a closely related trade field; hands-on welding experience is a significant plus Comfortable working in and supporting the management of an active shop environment Highly organized; able to supervise students and support safe shop practices Positive and enthusiastic demeanor with excellent communication skills Able to make positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and community and work collaboratively in a team environmentPay:
