Job Description
Job Summary Bruce Olson Construction is currently looking for a Cabinet Designer for immediate hire. The ideal candidate will need strong practical woodworking skills and a keen eye for details. The Cabinet Designer position will be in a high-end custom cabinet shop and working in high end "Custom" homes in the Lake Tahoe Area. Also be dependable, and detail oriented with reliable transportation. Candidate must be able to be added to company auto insurance policy, pass a drug and background check. A successful cabinet maker must have the following skills and aptitudes: Taking customer orders and agreeing on the specifications Review drawings and choosing appropriate materials, such as the correct type of timber, veneer or synthetic board Using computer-aided design programs (Cabinet Vision, Etc.) to perform calculations and refine drawings along with cutsheets. Must have knowledge of programming the CNC/Edge bander machines/programs. Cutting and joining wood to make parts according to the plans Assembling cabinets and furniture from shaped components Making cabinetry and furniture pieces according to specifications, including hinges, locks and handles Repairing or refurbishing older furniture Refining or enhancing existing furniture by adding intricate details
