- Full-time Cabinet Maker — Camplife Customs About us: Camplife Customs is a San Diego van conversion shop with a fun, creative work environment built around teamwork.
The role:
You'll be joining our Woodworking team, fabricating, assembling, and installing the cabinetry and interior finish work that goes into every vehicle that leaves our shop. Working from plans developed by our design team, you'll build everything from countertops and storage to workstations, beds, and full custom interiors. The standard is marine-grade — because every build has to hold up to real use. What you'll do Fabricate, fit, and install countertops, cabinets/drawers, and built-in cabinetry Install paneling, ceilings, flooring, and trim — fabric panels, laminate, vinyl plank, hardwood Install paneling, ceilings, flooring, and trim — fabric panels, laminate, vinyl plank, hardwood Read drawings and translate them into accurate, well-finished work Coordinate with our fabrication and electrical teams so cabinetry plays nicely with steel framing, wiring runs, plumbing, and equipment mounts Maintain a clean, organized workstation and contribute to overall shop quality What we're looking for: Hands-on cabinetry or woodworking experience ideally with van conversions, marine/yacht interiors, RV, custom trailers, or mobile equipment builds — anywhere you've built to non-square spaces with van-style components (Marine-grade finishes, integrated systems, weight-conscious construction) and worked alongside electrical and structural systems Comfortable with table saw, miter saw, router, track saw, finish nailers, and the full set of hand tools Can read plans and build to spec without hand-holding Detail-oriented — joints, reveals, finishes, fit A teammate. The Woodworking department works closely with fabrication, electrical, and finish — everyone covers for everyone Nice to have: Direct van conversion shop experience Marine cabinetry / yacht interior background Comfortable with curved or non-square installations CAD or CNC familiarity Why this shop: A small, close team that genuinely enjoys working together — and enjoys building awesome vans! 4-day work week with every Friday off Collaborative and team-focused environment — everyone supports everyone, and each person has a hand in the finished product Wide range of projectsCompensation:
