Since 1986, Wood Specialties by Fehrenbacher has delivered high-quality interior trim and custom millwork solutions. From doors and mouldings to stair parts and architectural details, we are committed to craftsmanship, quality, and customer satisfaction on every project.Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Millwork Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with architectural millwork, custom wood products, and interior trim components. This role is responsible for fabricating and preparing high-quality millwork products while maintaining the craftsmanship and precision our customers expect. The successful candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, and passionate about producing exceptional finished products.Key Responsibilities:
Millwork Fabrication Build, assemble, and prepare custom millwork products including moulding, door parts, stair parts, and other architectural wood components. Work Order and Specification Reading Interpret work orders, and project specifications to ensure accurate production and assembly. Equipment Operation Safely operate woodworking machinery and hand tools including saws, routers, sanders, planers, and other millwork equipment, as well as forklifts as needed. Quality Control Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet company quality standards and customer expectations. Identify and correct defects or inconsistencies. Material Handling Measure, cut, and shape wood and composite materials with precision and efficiency while minimizing waste. Shop Organization Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Assist with inventory organization and material staging as needed. Collaboration Work closely with production staff, and project managers to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule. Safety Compliance Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe workplace environment.Qualifications:
- Experience in millwork, woodworking, finish carpentry, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to accurately interpret shop drawings, and project specifications while utilizing measuring tools with precision.
- Familiarity with woodworking equipment and machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift materials and work in a physically active environment.
