Job Description

Millwork Drafter & CNC Specialist Saidi Studios Ferndale, MI Job Details Part-time $21 - $25 an hour 4 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Fabrication Teamwork Cutting Attention to detail Millwork Full Job Description Saidi Studios is a custom millwork and cabinetry studio crafting high-end residential and commercial interiors. We're looking for a skilled and thoughtful specialist to join our team two days per week — someone who takes pride in precision and genuinely enjoys the intersection of design and fabrication.
About the role:
You'll work closely with our team on drafting and CNC programming, translating design intent into production-ready shop drawings and toolpaths. The right person will come with a strong technical foundation, and we'll provide hands-on training with our lead drafter to get you fully aligned with our workflows and standards over your first several weeks. What you'll be doing: Drafting custom millwork and cabinetry in Microvellum, producing accurate shop drawings and cut lists Programming CNC files in V Carve for routing, carving, and nested-based cutting Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, elevations, and design documents Producing elevations and renderings that clearly communicate design intent Collaborating with the shop and design team to move projects smoothly from drawing to fabrication Catching and communicating constructability issues early What we're looking for: Solid working knowledge of Microvellum — or comparable cabinet design software such as Cabinet Vision. Experience with either tells us you understand what a drawing needs to become in the real world Proficiency in V Carve for CNC toolpath programming The ability to read and work from architectural drawings and millwork documents A solid understanding of cabinet construction, joinery, and millwork principles Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and collaborative Background in architecture or architectural drafting carries real weight here — it's not a requirement, but candidates who bring that lens tend to hit the ground running in ways that matter to us.
Schedule & Pay:
2 days/week, in-office $21-$25/hr depending on experience We're not looking for a flood of applications — we're looking for the right person. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear a bit about your relevant experience when you apply
Pay:
$21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Benefits:
Flexible schedule
Work Location:
In person
