Cabinet Maker / Installer / Shop Assistant We are a small custom cabinet and woodworking shop looking to add the right person to our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building, solving problems, working efficiently, and taking pride in high-quality craftsmanship. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in cabinet making, trim carpentry, woodworking, and cabinet installation. However, we are also open to a motivated shop assistant who is hardworking, eager to learn, and wants to grow in the trade. This is a small shop, so the right person needs to be dependable, self-motivated, and willing to jump in wherever needed. We need someone who stays moving, looks for the next task, and takes ownership of getting things done. Possible Roles We are looking for help in one or more of the following areas: Cabinet building Cabinet installation Custom woodworking Shop assistant / apprentice Finishing prep Staining, painting, or clear coat finishing Responsibilities Read and interpret drawings, plans, measurements, and project details. Build and assemble cabinets, built-ins, shelving, trim components, and custom woodworking projects. Use hand tools, power tools, table saws, miter saws, sanders, routers, drills, and other common shop equipment safely and accurately. Assist with cabinet and built-in installations in clients' homes. Measure, cut, assemble, sand, prep, and install with precision. Problem-solve in the shop and on-site when projects require adjustments. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area. Help load, unload, carry, and move materials, cabinets, tools, and equipment. Inspect work for quality, fit, finish, and accuracy. Work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Qualifications Experience in cabinet making, woodworking, finish carpentry, or cabinet installation preferred. Strong mechanical ability and problem-solving skills. Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable using common woodworking and carpentry tools. Able to measure carefully and work from drawings or verbal instructions. Dependable, punctual, and willing to work hard. Able to lift and move cabinets, plywood, tools, and materials safely. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Must be able to stay productive without constant direction. Ideal Candidate The ideal person for this role is someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in craftsmanship, and has the drive to keep moving throughout the day.
