Architectural Doors Builder Alpine Wood Products Marionville, MO Job Details Full-time From $16 an hour 2 days ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Fabrication Math Attention to detail Milling Millwork Full Job Description Architectural Doors Builder The Architectural Doors Builder is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and finishing of high-quality custom architectural doors. This role combines precision woodworking, and commitment to craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop tickets, and specifications to build doors that meet exact dimensional and design requirements. Cut, mill, and machine door components (stiles, rails, cores, panels, lites) using CNC routers, table saws, and other woodworking equipment. Assemble door slabs by gluing, clamping, and pressing components, ensuring square, flat, and structurally sound construction. Bore, mortise, and prep doors for hardware including hinges, locksets, closers, exit devices, and electrified components per hardware schedules. Apply edgebanding, profile edges with the moulder, and trim doors to finished size with tight tolerances. Sand, prep, and finish doors to achieve a smooth, defect-free surface that meets quality standards. Install glass lites, louvers, and other inserts according to shop drawings and fire/life-safety ratings where applicable. Perform quality control checks throughout the build process, identifying and correcting defects before doors move to the next station. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with OSHA guidelines, including proper handling of scrap material, dust collection, and PPE use. Operate and perform basic operator-level maintenance on shop machinery; report mechanical issues promptly to maintenance staff. Coordinate with the plant manager and team members to meet production schedules and prevent bottlenecks. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in architectural millwork, cabinet making, or custom door fabrication preferred. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and hardware schedules. Proficiency with woodworking tools and shop machinery including CNC routers, table saws, moulders, sanders, and boring/assembly equipment. Strong understanding of wood species, veneers, adhesives, and finishing materials used in architectural door construction. Working knowledge of door hardware preparation (hinges, locksets, closers, exit devices, electrified hardware). Strong attention to detail, mathematical accuracy, and ability to work to tight tolerances. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, stand for extended periods, and safely handle large door slabs (often with a partner or lift assist). Equipment Expertise (On-Site Machinery):
