Job Description

Arrowhead Building Co. is a local design-build firm specializing in modern design and green building techniques. Arrowhead offers a total package, integrating extensive fluency and experience in design and construction. Our diversity of experience culminates in an unrivaled turnkey experience. As a Shop Fabricatormember of the teamyou will work under the direct supervision of the Shop Foreman, assisting in the fabrication and assembly of high-end cabinetry and architectural wood elements. This is a hands-on role perfect for an individual who is passionate about woodworking and committed to producing quality craftsmanship. At this time we are looking for an entry level apprentice with 1-2 years experience in cabinetry / trim carpentry / woodworking
Responsibilities:
Fabrication & Assembly:
Assist the Shop Foreman and other crew members in all phases of the woodworking process, including cutting, sanding, shaping, and assembling custom cabinets and millwork.
Tool & Equipment Operation:
Safely and proficiently operate a variety of woodworking tools and machinery, such as table saws, planers, sanders, and routers.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Assist in reading and understanding shop drawings and technical specifications to ensure accurate and precise work.
Quality Control:
Help maintain our high standards of quality by inspecting materials and finished products for defects and ensuring all pieces meet project specifications.
Shop Maintenance:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. You will be responsible for cleaning up your workspace, organizing tools, and assisting with general shop upkeep.
Material Handling:
Assist with the loading, unloading, and transportation of materials and finished products within the shop.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience in a woodworking shop, cabinetmaking, or a related field is preferred. We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow.
Transportation:
Must have a valid NC Driver's License and reliable transportation. Experience driving a full sized, high roof van is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Basic to intermediate knowledge of woodworking techniques and a willingness to learn new skills. The ability to safely operate a variety of tools is a must. Knowledge of imperial and metric units is necessary Attention to
Detail:
A strong eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Material Expertise:
Demonstrate a good understanding of various building materials, their capabilities, and their limitations.
Physical Stamina:
The ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and working with tools. Must be able to lift and maneuver a 4x8 sheet of plywood weighing 75lb.
Safety-Conscious:
A strong commitment to job site safety and a proven ability to follow all safety protocols.
Team-Oriented:
A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, taking direction from the Shop Foreman.
Required Cabinetry Skills:
Understanding of 32mm system Understanding of materials and their strengths/limitations Experience with Blum hardware Operate a sliding tablesaw Operate an automatic edgebander Create jigs and fixtures Cutlist optimization and grain matching faces Cabinet Assembly, primarily butt joint with plant on back panels. Rabbets and dados as needed. HVLP Sprayer experience preferred Build blind dado drawer boxes Build shaker doors

Has basic understanding of other trades Can be efficient in a tight work environment Can complete tasks with minimal supervision Has ability to complete tasks efficiently and to expected standards of quality and artisanship Attention to detail Ability to read and understand drawings Able to self-start using available resources Able to troubleshoot solutions prior to engaging Lead Has good communication and asks questions
Required Tools:
Drill / driver and measuring / marking basics preferred for occasional install work.
