Custom Fabrication and Finished Cabinetry

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Project Manager, the incumbent will install structures and fixtures such as windows, framing, drywall, and molding. The incumbent will also measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials as required for tenant improvement/fit-out.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs a variety of duties including constructing, installing, repairing, and finishing structures and fixtures of drywall, metal wood, plywood, and wallboard using carpenter and power tools while conforming to local building codes. Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saw. Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and scope of materials required. Assembles and fastens materials to make framework or props, using hand tools Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, and other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, and power tools. Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace using hand tools. Maintains clean worksites and keeps all tools in good working order Conducts all work in a safe and OSHA-compliant manner Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

High School Degree or relevant experience At least five (5) years experience in construction or a related field Practical knowledge of all state and local safety standards Ability to work well with others both inside and outside the organization as well as vendors and suppliers; Exercise professional judgment in selecting proper choices of action within limits set by standard practices and procedures OSHA certification a plus

Equipment & Lifting:

This position requires frequent lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds. This position requires using of power tools and other construction equipment.
