Job Description

About Us Manta Property Service Group is a high-end residential design-build remodeling company based in Chatham, NJ. We specialize in delivering premium craftsmanship and an exceptional client experience from concept through completion. We are a small, professional team that values quality, communication, and accountability. We don't just build projects—we execute them to a high standard, across every trade involved. About the Role We are hiring a Lead Remodeling Craftsman / Project Lead who can take ownership of projects in the field—not just complete assigned tasks. This is a hands-on, bags-on role . You will be expected to actively perform work daily while also leading the project on-site. This role requires someone who understands that quality is not trade-specific —it's the final product.
That means:
Walls are flat, plumb, and square Drywall is finished with no visible seams Trim is installed tight and clean—not filled with caulk to hide gaps Paint finishes are crisp and appropriate to the application If you are detail-oriented at that level, you will do well here. What You'll Do Perform hands-on work daily across multiple aspects of remodeling Lead projects from start to finish in the field Coordinate and manage subcontractors on-site Serve as a primary point of contact for clients during construction Maintain daily logs with photos, updates, and forward-looking notes using JobTread Look ahead 2-5 days to plan labor, materials, and sequencing Identify issues early and solve problems proactively Ensure all work meets high-quality finish standards—not just "passes" Maintain a clean, organized, and protected jobsite at all times What We're Looking For If you: Take pride in producing a clean, finished product—not just completing tasks Understand how different trades impact each other and the final result Think ahead and plan your work Communicate clearly with clients, subcontractors, and the office Are comfortable using technology daily (photos, notes, updates via JobTread or similar) Want to grow into a leadership role Then we want to talk. Skills and Experience Minimum 4+ years of residential remodeling experience, including: Framing and layout (plumb, level, square) Drywall installation and finishing (clean, seamless results) Trim, cabinetry, and millwork installation (tight, accurate work) Painting and finishing awareness (correct products, clean results) General remodeling across multiple trades
