Job Description

A Carter Lumber Millwork Specialist is responsible for fulfilling special orders as requested in a timely and accurate manner This is accomplished by reading and calculating measurements, operating woodworking tools, and assembling the product to the customer's specification. Adheres to safety regulations when handling material and equipment. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a millwork, woodworking/carpentry environment General carpentry skills Knowledge and expertise with woodworking tools Strong attention to detail Possess strong mathematic skills to calculate measurements Proficiency in using power tools and tape measures Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Ability to work in a team environment
Responsibilities:
Set-up Sets up equipment and material in order to assemble millwork accordingly. Reviews and analyzes custom orders to ensure proper materials are provided and available. Production Produces custom millwork based on customer's design illustrations including products such as moulding, newels and fireplaces mantels. Operates machinery to cut and shape to specifications. Efficiently handles power tools to produce accurate results. Utilizes special tools to create intricate details on all custom millwork. Evaluates finished products to ensure that customer expectations are being met. Safety Adheres to safety requirements when operating tools and equipment. Handles material in a safe and appropriate manner. Reports any defects or safety issues immediately.
