Commercial Construction About the Role We are seeking an experienced Cabinet Maker / Carpenter to join our Millworks Department. This position focuses on custom cabinetry and architectural millwork for commercial construction projects. You'll work with high-quality materials and collaborate with a skilled team to deliver precision craftsmanship for offices, retail spaces, and other commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, materials, and techniques.
Custom Cabinetry & Millwork:
Fabricate, assemble, and install cabinets, countertops, shelving, and other custom wood components.
Installation:
Install doors, windows, trim, molding, and hardware with accuracy and attention to detail.
Finish Carpentry:
Apply stains, varnishes, and sealants; install decorative trim and ensure a polished final product.
Tool & Equipment Use:
Operate hand tools and power tools (saws, drills, routers, sanders) safely and efficiently.
Quality & Safety:
Maintain compliance with safety standards and perform quality checks to meet project specifications. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in carpentry preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in cabinet making or millwork for commercial construction projects. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and finishes. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials. Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship. Preferred Skills Experience with architectural millwork and commercial cabinetry. Familiarity with CNC machinery and advanced woodworking tools. Knowledge of commercial construction standards and timelines. Compensation & Benefits Pay is dependent on experience, typically ranging from $18 to $22 per hour.
