Job Description
S & G Manufacturing Group is a manufacturer of millwork/wood fixtures and stainless steel equipment for the restaurant and retail industries. Wood Assemblers build cabinets and furniture by studying blueprints and specifications, setting-up and operating equipment, verifying dimensions and assembling and finishing components. Job Duties Prepares work studying work orders, blueprints, drawings, sketches, specifications; checks equipment and tools; calculates parts, components, materials, and supplies requirements; obtains and selects wood, materials and supplies and plans layout. Cuts and shapes wood components by determining appropriate methods for cutting, shaping, and assembling parts; sets-up and operates equipment, including power saws, planers, sanders, jointers, routers, and nailers; measures and marks materials; verifies dimensions; trims parts using hand tools, including planes, chisels, wood files, and sanders. Assembles units by attaching parts and components using fasteners and adhesives; verifies dimensions; trims and adjusts parts. Maintains safe and secure work environment by adhering to organizational standards and policies. Keeps equipment operating by following instructions and established procedures; troubleshoots breakdowns; performs preventive maintenance and calls for repairs. Documents production by completing a daily log. Work Schedule Common work hours are Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 3:30 pm with potential OT Education High school diploma or GED; ability to read English Experience Work with laminate, veneer, Corian and solid wood a plus; ability to read blueprints Work Environment Manufacturing shop environment with regular exposure to dust.
